Title: Holes
Author: Louis Sachar
Main character: Stanley Yelnats
What it was about: It was about a boy named Stanley Yelnats, who people thought stole a famous sneakers even though he didn't. He got to choose between going to jail or going to a camp where you dig holes for your punishment. Stanley chose camp. He didn't like digging holes though.
My sea monkeys
My sea monkeys are about five months old and they keep on reproducing so I have a lot of them.
I feed my Sea monkeys their growth food and they also eat the algae that grows in their tank. When the sea monkey's tank looks like it is clear I feed them some banana treats too!

Baby birds
Baby ducks are so cute!
We went to the sea wall near Olympic Village. There is a pond with a nice habitat for these cute little baby ducks to live in. Near the beach on the grass were some baby goslings with their parents looking for food.

Taken with a Fish eye lens: of baby ducks (on rock) huddling together and daddy duck on guard.

Sea Monkeys: 14 days old
I learned that the long thing (i thought it was a tail) on the Sea Monkeys is actually POO!
I've noticed that it looks like the Sea Monkeys like to swim around upside-down. My Sea Monkeys are all different sizes so I think that some were born before than others. I hope the Sea Monkeys breed so I could have generations of them. It would be interesting to see them hatched.
Anyways, my little sister is going to bring her sea monkeys to school for her show & tell.

Science Fair
My friend and I did this Science Fair project about sugar.
I learned about other people's Science Fair projects and I like Ay's about Light. Next time, I'm going to try to build a robot and fill the poster board with more information.
A & O's Science Fair project about Making a Cloud in a bottle
This is J & K's project about Sunlight
Here is the Science fair. There were a lot of people. It was really stuffy and crowded.
This is L & S's project about DNA
This was the best part of our project. People took the Sugar Identification Test. Nobody aced the test but some people were really close.
Here's Olive, my parrot watching me blog about the Science Fair

OLIVE, MY MEYER'S PARROT
Olive is sitting on her cage looking at the camera!
Olive looks like she's about to bight the camera or jump on me.
This is kind of dark, but Olive is preening (Washing her feathers) her feathers so the feathers will look good, won't be messy and if she doesn't she might not fly very well. |
Sea monkey air pump
We got a sea monkey air pump and made it out of an air stone , medical syringe and a piece of tubing that we got from the pet store. The tubing cost 29 cents. The air stone cost $1.29 and the medical syringe was free. To use it you have to pull the syringe up , NOT in the water and push it down in the water and take it out of the water and do it two more times. You have to take the air pump out of the water because if you don't, you might suck a sea monkey up! The air pump works pretty well
